I don't know why I didn't think of it.
I mean, years ago I decided to limit any new Christmas decorations to ones that reminded me of the meaning of Christmas.
But Easter? What else is there besides cute bunnies (which I adore year-round) and chicks and eggs? (I've seen crowns of thorns but I keep thinking I can make my own someday. Yeh, right.)
So each year I drag out my spring! decorations in remembrance of Calvary.
(oh my).
But then I swung by my friend Nichole's the other day and WHAM!
Look what graces her dining room table...
Be still my beating heart. "Easter?!" I exclaimed.
Yes. Easter.
So I ran to the Hobby Lobby (which is Christian-owned, by the way) and got myself 3 crosses (which were 80% off --- I think it was a sign (smile)) and made my very own "rugged cross" vignette.

"And when they were to come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him." (Luke 23:33)
But the cross, to me, doesn't just symbolize death.
It symbolizes LIFE.
...He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. (Matthew 28:6)
Thank you, Nichole. I'm glad you thought of it.

It's an honor to be featured on the blog! Even more of an honor to be a "decorating inspiration." Do not forget the many ways you inspire my decorating as well!

Oh my... I need a Hobby Lobby. You are so right about the decorating. I've never given it much thought until now.
You are Sooo right! I have been changing my Easter and Christmas decor for the past few years. I did a post on making a Redemption tree. I was hoping to get some input on what to put on a little tree to comemorate what Christ has done for us. I bought some sculpy and am making some crowns of thorns. Got any ideas??
