Seeking

Remember my cousin, Jennifer? Here she is with Michael Jackson when she did the BAD tour with him. We asked her about him ("is he as strange as they say?") but she never really said much of anything regarding Michael.
Here she is in real life...in the guitar world she is considered one of the best on the planet. A feat totally lost on our family (due to our collective lack of guitar knowledge), but we're proud none the less.

When I heard that Michael Jackson had died, I just felt so terribly sad for him. It seems like his soul hadn't known peace for such a very long time. One wonders if he can recall a time in his life when he did feel peace. He searched for peace all his life. I wonder if he ever sought the author of peace. Peace Himself.

If he hadn't, I am convinced that Peace called Michael again before he breathed his last.

...come to Me and I will give you rest.
I hope he accepted the invitation.

I pray my cousin knows the author of Peace.

Because everything else?

Chasing after the wind.

l

I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;
I refused my heart no pleasure.
My heart took delight in all my work, and this was the reward for all my labor.
Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless,
a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun....
Even at night his mind does not rest.
This too is meaningless.
Ecclesiastes 2:10-11, 23

Again, you never cease to knock my socks off. It is crazy over here in SoCal with all of the Michael Mania. I do hope that he found the Peace he sought after all of his life. I can not imagine what his life was like, not at all. My parent's next door neighbor was one of Michael's bodyguards in the 80's and he says that Michael was always chasing something he could never quite find.
I pray your cousin finds Peace.

WHAT??? That is craziness that your cousin was on tour with him. You should be proud. Whether or not he found the peace he was looking for, I don't know, but I am praying that through this caos that is happening with his death, that she will be open to watering the seeds that I am sure you have planted.

"chasing after the wind"- i love that!

i think it's tragic, too.

We have been away from our site and from visiting your site for about a week.
You have been busy.
You do very good work.
Your cousin must be a most interesting person.
The excerpt from 'Eclesiastes'reminds me of something St. Thomas said about his 'Summa' - that after all, in the great scheme of things, there are infinitely more important things than all our worrying and scurrying and hereing and thereing...
Like you, we hope that Michael Jackson found 'peace' toward the end...
That is the best we can offer....
