I can't remember how I found Layla at The Lettered Cottage, but I'm so glad I did! She has inspired me to continue my quest to feather our nest in simple and beautiful ways.

As I streamline things, I'm finding that following Layla's example lifts my spirits and gives me room to breathe.
On Friday I painted our Family Room (sneak peek above), got rid of stuff, and added a new piece of furniture I've wanted for 4 years!
Can you guess what it might be?

i love the warm colors that you use... i thought that with the "redecorated" bathroom post... and i have that same mirror! it's waiting to be hung in my boys' playroom... maybe i'll get to that today? :)
Oh, this looks like a peaceful corner. I love it.
I so look forward to the mental capacity to begin some new things like this... right now, there's no room!
I send love.
I love the quote. Since not tht much is truly useful, the problem is if you love everything.
I am going to tape that quote to my debit card because I HAVE to remember that. So often I buy things just to buy them and then I get them home don't love it but I keep it because "It will do..."
I am guessing you got a new coffee table or armoire. Spelling?
It looks great and wish I could see it in person! As for the new furniture, I am going with coffee table or side table......HMMMM.
By the way, I do not have 5 kids, although on some days it sure feels like they are all mine. I only biologically have 2. The others are niece and nephews that we carpool with and basically half live at my house. It really is wonderful, except when the fighting starts! Mr. C. comes from a family of 8 kids!!! I wanted sanity at the end of my life!
Off to go continue cleaning :)
