Mac or PC....that is the Question

So, my dear blogging friend Patty is not at Blissdom and is having a party!  You're invited, too!

My husband just brought home Graeter's ice cream (hand churned French ice cream--oh my!), our daughter is finding a good movie for us on pay-per-view, and the wind and snow are blowing outside.  Our own little cozy blissdom, if you will.

So before you head over to ring Patty's doorbell, answer me this...

Do you have a Mac or a PC?  Our computer crashed with a virus AGAIN (thus the reason for no pics with this post) and we're sick of it.  So, should we count our pennies and head to the Apple store this week?

Ok.  You can think about your response while heading over to Patty's.  Tell her I'm on way, won't you please?  Then come back and give me your thoughts.

Hey there! I just got my first Mac in September and do truly love it! It took a little getting used to but I have pretty much conquered it. I have always been a fan of "apple" products so it just seemed like the right thing to do. Everyone told me "once you go Mac, you never go back" however I haven't really found anything that makes me say that. Some of the software packages I have don't interact with my Mac and Safari is tricky sometimes. Even with blogging, I have to go into Mozilla to move my gadgets around. I have always found work arounds but just thought it worth sharing. Is this a show stopper, absolutely not! Having a mac is really cool :)

Hi Cathy, it looks like I stopped by just in time to offer some great advice... RUN, don't walk to your nearest Apple store and buy yourself a Mac! My hubby and I got MacBook Pro laptops several years ago (his office paid for his). We always had computer viruses before but it's been nothing but fun with our Macs. A great way to start out is to go to the Apple website and look at their refurbished models. You get the same great quality at a fraction of the price. Good luck & happy Mac'ing! ;>
God's blessings,
Sarah :D

Stopping by from Patty's party. We have a PC, but if the funds had been available when we purchased our last computer, I think we would have made the switch. Everyone I know with a Mac loves them.

Mac or PC?
Well, we have had both and I am sure that both are very good, both having their advocates.
Our advice, from here at 'The Study',is to invest in, regardless of which way you go, in the very best protective service that you can find.
You need to have a firewall and whatever else the service you select suggests.
Good luck.
We have experienced infection, and it is our determination to do whatever is necessary to avoid such contamination ever again.

I'm "Not at Blissdom" either... but it is fun popping around meeting those who aren't...

I use PC... but have fought 3 viruses and 2 trojans in the past two years... when we can afford to I'm going apple and not looking back...

Mac, mac, mac! I've always had Macs since I first starting using a home computer. I've NEVER had a virus. I would never buy a PC - I've used them when I've had to (offices) but for me it is Mac all the way. It is worth the extra to have a dependable, beautifully designed machine.

Hey. Hoping around from Blessed Moon. Thought I would chime in. ;)
My son who is studying to be a computer software engineer would tell you you're crazy to even consider a Mac. But my daughter, who is a Mac owner, would tell you the Mac is the bomb! (You should hear the debates around here.) Honestly, I believe when ours bites the dust (Compaq desktop that is 8 years old) we'll be getting a Mac.

Nice to 'meet' you.

We have 3 Macs. One Macbook laptop, one G5 with Intel, and one G5. They are AWESOME! We have had the G5 for 4 years. My parents had a house fire in their upstairs when we were living there. The warranty was voided on the Mac because it got waterlogged and smoke was all around it. So the insurance company bought us the G5 with Intel, and we bought our Macbook. The G5 from the fire... with no warranty has worked 3 years and some months since that fire(it was just a few months old) and has never had one single problem. Our other 2 Macs are 3 years old now, and neither of them have ever had major issues. I say major, because my husband and I used our DVD drive so much that we had to have it replaced, and I had a brand new macbook(when they first came out) and they had a problem with the cover around the keyboard turning to a peach color(the white faded) which didn't harm the computer in any way.... I just wanted it replaced, so they did it. Those are quite literally the only two problems that we have ever had with all 3 of our Macs. Including one that was waterlogged in a house fire.

We have never had viruses, never had problems with computers crashing... I would fully support buying a Mac. Basically you think of the easiest way to do something... and that is how you do it on a Mac!

Good luck deciding on a new computer!

HI there,

I'm also touring with Patty, and having gone over to the "dark side" of becoming a Mac user this past year (despite the derision of the other 3 PC users in the house), I would NEVER go back!
Cheers,
Cate

Hi there and thanks for stopping by my blog! I contemplated this same question this past Oct. I ALMOST went for the MAC. But ended up with a Lenovo All-in-one that was a fraction of the price. Being that we are building a house I am pinching some pennies. I am VERY happy with my choice, but still wonder about Macs. I do have an iphone that I love very much as well :)

I think that you guys definitely have a better deal with the ice cream and movie.

Have a great night. I enjoyed coming by.

Blessings.
